I would like so say that it is both a blessing and honor to serve as secretary of this section. The Spirit of God is very evident upon this body of believers for a great endtime work. I believe He is in the process of placing qualified men and ministries in strategic positions for a final, unprecedented move of His Spirit, and the Southwest Section of the South Texas District UPCI is a vital part of it.

                                                                       In His Service,
                                                                       Pastor Keith K. Felps

Notes from our Chistmas Banquet 2010: (Several have inquired about and referenced comments made, therefore I have agreed to make my notes available online.)

Unity - Because of the times, we need each other in a universal form of fellowship and encouragement, but also in a deeper avenue as well. We need to develop a connection of mutual benefit to each other as the scriptures have stated that we are various members of the body of Christ. We each offer different spiritual gifts and talents that can be shared with one another, and this involves recognizing the spiritual component/member that we are and then offering these specific talents to other ministries until we harmonize with one another as a whole unit – body of Christ. Standing too autonomously in this end time produces vulnerability, not progress.

Methods - We are at a place where we have stated, “Methods may change, but doctrine stays the same.”

We have said this until we have evolved to a place where methods have changed to the point of out-right defying some of the scriptures and the principles of others.

Our methods have become so illusive and flowing with the times until they contain no absolutes. And now, we, unfortunately, find ourselves using this same mindset when handling the scriptures…and thus, coming up with the same result - no absolutes in the scriptures either.

In our desperation to reach the lost, we have mistakenly thought that methods are simply vehicles in which to convey a message, not realizing how these vehicles can contaminate the cargo.

Once we have started out on this journey to “connect with the lost at any cost,” we often find ourselves in a perpetual state of confusion of even the simplest of situations and doctrines.

In an attempt to stay on course – If you haven’t written a personal doctrinal stance on the major doctrines of scripture, I suggest you do so and/or pick up the “New Birth” by David K. Bernard, and read it once a year to re-affirm accurate scriptural interpretation.

One man once said, “Study, establish your beliefs, write them down, put it in a safe place, and then refer to it along life’s journey. Because as times change, and you do as well, you will need to revert back to this foundation when yours is swift and unsteady.”
